On the palate, it was full-bodied and balanced, showing black cherry and floral-rose notes. The finish turned tart, restraining the fruit yet staying long on the senses. 2007 Speri Amarone della Valpolicella Vigneto Monte Sant’Urbano – The nose was rich with blackberry fruit, medicinal cherry, herbs, earth tones and spice. On the palate, it was smooth and velvety with intense cherry, raisin and a hint of orange zest. The finish showed dried black cherry, burnt sugar and a hint of bitters.
